Name THREE of your…
1. Pet Peeves:
Overcooked pasta, Guys who don’t leave me alone even when I tell them I’m married, and those fuckers who drive way up to the front of the line and try to elbow their way in when I’m stuck in a long line of traffic.
2. Favorite Sounds:
My little brown & white dog singing, any of my favourite musicians live, and that “meepmeep! meepmeep!” noise that zebras make.
3. Favorite Flavors of Candy:
Any floral candies (I’ve tried rose, lilac, lavender, and jasmine), chocolate covered pretzels, and boston baked beans.
4. Biggest Fears:
Losing Colin or Enid, being touched by live fish, discovering that while I think I dress very well I actually look goofy all the time.
5. Biggest Challenges:
Dropping these last 15 pounds has been a pain in my butt (mainly because I can’t seem to get motivated to really DO anything about it), getting Enid potty-trained (we seem to have reached a point where it’s finally happening though!), and quitting smoking.
6. Favorite Department Stores:
Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and Fred Flare. I’m not too sure Anthropologie counts though.
7. Most Used Words:
“You know?”, “Oh my god”, and “heh”.
8. Favorite Pizza Toppings:
Fresh tomato, red onion, and feta cheese (sprinkled on after the pizza is cooked and cooled a bit. Melted feta is N-A-S-T-Y).
9. Favorite Cartoon Characters:
Proffesor Utonium (Powerpuff Girls), Bender (Futurama), and Bambi.
10. Movies Recently Watched:
The Dreamers, Cousins, and Saved.
11. Favorite Fruits:
Honeysweet apples, Bartlett pears, and tomato.
12. Favorite Vegetables:
Corn on the cob with butter and salt, raw cauliflower, and radishes.
With thanks to Jennifer.
I had a GREAT time out with my friend Ezma last night. We hit pretty much every bar in the downtown area, some of them twice! There was much catching up to do, since we haven’t really talked much since we were in school. BTW girl, your hair? Mucho cute-o. I’m trying to talk myself out of wanting to cut mine again now, thanks. Heh.

I had a disturbing dream the other night. It was probably a combination of feeling like a dorky fangirl at the Jared Woods/BiPolar Bears show I went to the night before and also the alcohol I consumed, but I still felt all yucky yesterday from the dream. I was at a Marcy Playground show in this very weird place. It was like Dr. Suess had designed the venue. A lot of other fans I know from the MP message boards were there, too. After the show, I was looking for Woz (lead singer, guitar, songwriter) to say hello. I walked up a huge, spiral staircase that was made of bright orange plastic and disproportionately curvy. There was a general feeling of sadness amongst the crowd, because we were all afraid for Marcy’s future, for some reason. When I got near the top of the staircase, I saw Dylan (bass), Gonz (drums) and Dryden (keyboards) loading their equipment
and chatting with Fisher (tour manager) and Danial (photographer). There was a beat up, old-fashioned style truck parked right at the very top of the stairs, poised to drive off and away from this Suessian landscape. I peeked in through the drivers side door and there was Woz, curled up on the bench, half asleep and absorbed in some papers. When he saw me, he got aggitated and told me to leave him the hell alone. It was awful. Later in the dream he appologized (and said some very nice, blush-inducing things), but I still felt rather weird upon awakening.
Anyway…
This is neat:
Are we born of the stars?

Got this from Dollfiend:
1. Think of a word you would use to describe me.
2. Go to Google Image Search and search for that word.
3. Select the picture you see as most fitting, and post it in my comments section.
4. Post this meme in your journal.

Last night my friend Lisa and I went and saw the BiPolar Bears play at local hangout, Humpy’s. One third of that amazing little trio is my personal favourite local musician, Jared Woods. Much blowing away was beheld. See them for yourself tonight, at the Alley. Wee!

x. What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
Bambi. The fact that I have deep affection for deer gets me feeling all lighthearted and emotional, and then being a Mother makes the scene when Bambi’s mother dies harder than it
was when I was a child.
x. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
I’d like to have my jawbone slimmed down, I feel that it isn’t delicate looking enough for my taste. I wouldn’t complain about a little lipo for these last 15 pounds I have been struggling with since my weight loss plataued (is that how you spell that? heh). And Since we’re talking fantasy, I’d get my neck lengthened, even though that isn’t a real possibility.
x. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
Fish. I can’t go into those little aquarium rooms in pet stores without getting pretty uncomforatable, and you’ll never get me into live water. I guess I was bitten by a fish we’d caught while out camping with my family as a child, but I don’t remember that. I think it also has to do with my fear of my Mother drowning and generally being under water, because she can’t swim.
x. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moment?
I fidgit and talk too fast.
x. Do you know anyone famous?
Ha! I love it when people ask me this
I know the guys from Marcy Playground. I share a special connection with their lead singer/guitarist/song writer, John Wozniak. I saw them was after a show in California this last April (I flew down form here in Alaska to see them on the same trip I went to Coachella to see the Pixies), and afterwards, in their dressing room, Woz practically leaped over a coffee table to give me a big hug. It was the best vacation I ever had.
x. Describe your bed:
Nothing special. It’s a queen-size, and has no headboard, though I intend to build one by cutting a board into a pretty, curvy shape and padding it before covering it with fabric and attaching buttons to it to give it a kind of quilted, cozy look.
x. What do you carry with you at all times?
In a small purse: cell phone, lip gloss, keys, wallet, cigarette case w/ lighter (sometimes… I smoke a LOT less then I used to, some days not at all), and sunglasses (if it’s nice out). I make a point of not carrying more than that, if I can help it.
x. What do you miss most about being little?
The greater sense of magic in everyday situations. I continuously mourn it.
x. Are you happy with your given name?
I didn’t for a very, very long time, but somewhat recently it’s gained my approval. It (Kirstin) makes me think of sweet & unpretentious girlish things (sewing, baking, daisy chains).
x. How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for a year?
good lord, it would be a lot, that’s for damn sure.
x. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
x. Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
Yes.
x. Do you spend more time with your girlfriend/boyfriend or your friends?
My husband, who is also my best friend. most of my friends live in other states these days.
x. What’s ne thing you wish you could do but can’t?
Give up my hedonistic ways.
x. What is your ideal marriage location?
Paris, France. We were actually married in San Francisco, at Golden Gate park.
x. Which musical instrument do you wish you could play?
Guitar.
x favorite fabric:
Nubby wools, crochet, lace.
x. Something you love and hate?
Pop culture.
x. Do you tell your friends about your sex life?
Not usually.
x. What’s the one language you want to learn?
French.
x. What do you order at a bar?
A stout (that’s a heavy, thick, dark beer, for those who don’t know).
x. What’s one trait you hate in a person?
Snobbery.
x. What do you cook the best?
French toast (do you see a pattern here?)
x. Do you prefer to stand out or blend in?
Blend in.
x. If you won the lottery, what would you do?
Make sure my family and those I love are cared for, invest in our future, see the world, and throw a private party just for hardcore Marcy Playground fans and hire the guys to play.
x. If you don’t like a person, how do you show it?
I don’t show it, other than doing my best not to encourage them.
x. Do you cry in front of friends?
Not if I can help it.
x. What’s one thing you like to do alone?
Poop.
x. When’s the last time you cried?
A few days ago, during a down-swing.
x. Favourite communication method?
Email or written letters. I really appreciate the time to think out my response.
x. How many drinks before you’re tipsy?
3-4
x. Favourite kind of porn?
Group sex, and non-gross (no spitting, no unrealistic girl noises, no fluids all-over-the-place).
x. Have you ever done any illegal drugs?
Indeed, I have. Nothing too scary though.
x. Do you think you’re cute?
Sometimes. Most of the time.
x. What’s the most painful experience you’ve ever had?
Being unimportant to those who are important to me.
